Home Essentials Program (HEP)

The Home Essentials Program provides furniture and household goods to individuals and families transitioning into stable housing, helping to create safe, comfortable, and functional living spaces. By partnering with service agencies, the program increases the success of housing placements by ensuring clients have the items they need to settle in and thrive. This support reduces move-in costs, improves housing retention, and strengthens overall program outcomes for partner agencies- while keeping valuable goods in circulation and out of the landfill.

Turning Empty Spaces Into Homes

A roof over your head is just the beginning- it's the furniture, the dishes, the bed to sleep in that make a house feel like home.

Through the Home Essentials Program, we help individuals and families moving into stable housing fill empty rooms with the basic items they need to live with comfort and dignity.

Every donated couch, table, or lamp not only transforms a space but also restores hope, stability, and the foundation for a fresh start.

Program and Strategies

Supporting Housing Stability

Provide essential furniture and household goods to help individuals and families successfully transition into and maintain stable housing. By meeting basic needs, we help reduce the risk of returns to homelessness and support long-term housing success.

Strengthen Community Partnerships

Collaborate with local agencies to enhance client outcomes, reduce barriers to housing retention, and improve program impact. Working together allows us to leverage resources, streamline referrals, and ensure that no family falls through the cracks.

Promote Environmental Sustainability

Divert reusable furniture and household items from landfills by repurposing donations to meet community needs. This environmentally responsible approach not only reduces waste but also maximizes the value of every donated item.

Foster Dignity and Well-Being

Ensure that every household served has the basic items necessary to create a safe, comfortable, and dignified living environment. By providing these essentials, we help individuals regain a sense of stability, pride, and belonging in their new homes.
